Advice for Road Runners: The women’s adidas Solar Control in the striking Cloud White/Carbon/Beam Pink colourway offers a great combination of stability, style and a female-specific fit.

Underfoot Feel

The midsole incorporates BOOST foam to deliver a premium underfoot feel. A medial TPU wrap and an EVA medial post work together to enhance stability and support under the arch. The shoe also features a bridged Linear Energy Push system (LEP 2.0) which helps the foot transition smoothly from heel to toe, adding spring and propulsion to toe-off. This LEP 2.0 also increases the torsional stability of the shoe, enhancing stability and controlling movement of the foot and ankle. Highly durable Continental rubber has been added to the outsole to give superb traction, even in wet conditions.

Upper Fit

The zoned mesh upper incorporates Parley Ocean Plastic and offers excellent breathability and a secure, locked-down fit. This women’s version has less volume in the forefoot to offer a more secure fit in this area. This is enhanced by the inclusion of a strengthened eye-stay on the medial side of the shoe which works with the TPU wrap to secure the foot further. The heel counter is slightly narrower than in the men’s version to accommodate the female foot better and is designed to reduce friction in the Achilles area.

Ideal Run Type

The adidas Solar Control is an everyday mileage shoe for the female runner who wants to balance comfort with some extra stability and is great  for racking up trouble-free training miles at slower to steady paces.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
